Javier Badillo is a Venezuelan-Canadian film director, producer,
writer
and musician. He
dabbles in action
adventures,
political
and historical thrillers,
awkward
romantic
comedies, magical realism
and
outsider
dramas.
His films and characters
portray worldly
lives,
bittersweet
nostalgia,
sharp wit, a longing for
a
better future
and a
place
to call home.
His short films have played in
international film
festivals,
American TV and the Web.
Javier is currently in post-production of his
short movie Afternoon at Gudrun, an awkwardly tender comedy about
emotional connection in this physically disconnected age.
Javier is also entering post-production of his first feature film
(as a producer) titled The Cover-Up, a microbudget PG-13 teen comedy in the
vein of
American Pie and Superbad, directed by the talented Erick Boychuk.
FILM COMPANIES AND AFFILIATIONS
In 2005 Javier founded Spitshine Flicks Inc., an independent
film
production

with
the popular gypsy-latin band Kola Collective and is currently
